12 June 2019 The version of the dataset has been updated to the latest (V2.6) Changes between this version and the previous one (V2.3) include: 1) The use of nadir mapper (NM) measurements with improved calibration that resolve a discrepancy with measurements from the nadir profiler itself. As a result, the "soft calibration" adjustments used to align the two datasets are much smaller than those in the previouse version. 2) The nadir pixel from the OMPS NM sensor is split unevenly between the left and right part of the CCD. In the previous version, both sides of this pixel were incorrectly given equal weight when recombining into one pixel. In this version each side has now been given the appropriate weight. 3) In the previous version the hyperspectral measurements from both the NP and NM sensors were linearly interpolated to provide measurements at the 12 wavelengths used in the retrieval. In this version, the interpolation was changed to a spline. 4) In the previous version the Ring effect (due to Raman scattering) was not corrected for. In this version a correction has been applied. 5) No correction for sensor throughput change (degradation) was applied in the previous version. In this one, a small degradation (on the order of 0.25% per year) is now being accounted and corrected for. *** This directory contains ozone profile data created from a research dataset developed by NASA's NPP Ozone Science Team using nadir measurements from Suomi-NPP's Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS). The format of the data is identical to that used for the series of NASA ansd NOAA SBUV instruments. It is ASCII format providing only the retrieved ozone profiles - mixing ratio at 15 standard pressure levels, and ozone layer amounts in DU (dobson units) for 13 layers from the surface to 0.0004 hPa. Detailed data in HDF format are also available on request.
