This describes the contents of the o3_*_theta.ascii files in this directory. o3_eqlat_theta.ascii contains the seasonal mean O3 presented in Strahan "Climatologies of lower stratospheric NOy and O3 and Correlations with N2O based on in situ observations" (JGR, in press, 1999). 'o3_lat_theta.ascii' uses a latitude and potential temperature coordinate. There are four seasons labelled: DJF (Dec-Jan-Feb) MAM (Mar-Apr-May) JJA (Jun-Jul-Aug) SON (Sep-Oct-Nov) The latitude value is next to the season. Equivalent Latitudes run from -90 to 90, incremented by 2 degrees. Latitudes are -72 to 90, incremented by 2 degrees. After the season and latitude are 5 lines of NOy mixing ratios in ppb. These are the 35 potential temperature values, running from 360 to 530 K, increments of 5 K. Missing values are '9999.'. The color post script file in this directory is Plate 5 of that paper (seasonal mean O3 in equivalent latitude).
