These data files were created by Susan Strahan. This worked is published in:
"Climatology and small-scale structure of lower stratospheric N2O based on
in situ observations", JGR, 104, 2195-2208, 1999. The post script files in
this directory are Plates 4 & 5 of that paper, which are color contour plots
of N2O in the latitude and the equiv. latitudes coordinates. (Same data as
in the files.)

There are 4 data files in this directory. Two files are in ascii (see the
other 'README' file), two are IDL binary data files. There are two climatologies:
one with the latitude coordinate, the other using equivalent latitudes.

To restore the equivalent latitude-coordinate climatology:

        IDL> restore, 'n2o_eqlat_theta.idl'

This will restore 3 arrays: n2oeqlat, blat, and tht
n2oeqlat is (91,35,4)
eqlat is (91)
tht is (35)
91 latitudes from -90 to 90, every 2 degrees.

        IDL> restore, 'n2o_lat_theta.idl'

This will restore 3 arrays: n2olat, blat, and tht
n2olat is (81,35,4)
lat is (81)
tht is (35)
81 latitudes from -72 to 88, every 2 degrees.
