Dr. Paul A. Newman

During the winter of 1999-2000, Dr. Newman and the aircraft field missions group were heavily involved in the SOLVE mission . As part of SOLVE Dr. Newman and Dr. Mark Schoeberl served as project scientists. Dr. Newman's SOLVE on-line journal is a day-to-day discussion of the mission. In addition, we provided both forecasts and flight planning tools for the operation of the NASA ER-2 and DC-8 which operated from Kiruna, Sweden.

During the SOLVE mission we coordinated with the Tropospheric Ozone Production about the Spring Equinox (TOPSE) experiment . As part of TOPSE, we provided forecast data for the mid-to-upper troposphere.
